Management Assistant 3 - Mid Level Project Management Consultant

Location:        San Diego, CA

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified Management Assistant 3 applicants to provide SPAWAR ERP Business Office (SEBO) Project Management support services.  The SEBO office operates Navy ERP for SPAWAR.  Navy ERP is an SAP system that has been customized to work for the Navy.  In this role, the consultant will work shoulder-to-shoulder with our client to support a 10,000+ workforce. The consultant will work with the SEBO PM to ensure all aspects of the project are running effectively, which will also include working with the SEBO technical teams.  The position will document SEBO processes, monitor project progress, and provide meeting support.

 

Job Duties:

 

Support the SEBO Manager. Specifically:

 

  •   Documenting current processes - Work with the SEBO technical team to write work instructions, process documents, desk guides, etc. to document SEBO activities

  • Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules

  •  Develop management and executive level briefs

  • Plan, facilitate and document meetings and discussions, as requested

  •  Support data calls and resolve client issues, as requested

  • Maintain and update the SEBO wiki.  Troubleshoot issues as needed

  •  Support SEBO communications. Author and distribute SEBO communiques as needed

  • Ensure the SEBO contractor team is appropriately documenting activities and manage TRIM for SEBO

 

Special Requirements

 

  • Must possess a minimum of a public trust clearance

  •  Must be local to San Diego

  •  Experience developing management/executive level briefs in PPT required 

  •  Strong verbal communication skills required to facilitate meetings with subject matter experts. 

  •  Fluent in MS Office Suite to include Visio and Project

  • Strong writing skills required for business process documentation

  • Familiarity with Navy ERP is strongly desired (but not essential)

 

Education Requirements

 

         Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, or related degree from an accredited college or university

Rail Transit Safety Assurance Officer

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified Rail Transit System Safety Assurance Officer applicants possessing the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform tasks required of a Safety Assurance Officer for rail cars to satisfactory meet all safety and contractual requirements. Candidate will be responsible for developing System Safety Cases and working with customers and authorities on methodology for Safety Management and Safety demonstration. The duties and responsibilities of the Safety Assurance Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

 

         Key contributor to project requirements, providing substantial knowledge from a safety and regulatory perspective

         Responsible for the development, maintenance and ownership of Safety Assurance methodology based on best practice and integration to state, local, and federal wide assurance frameworks

         Ensure compliance and adherence to the Safety Management System and obligations under the Rail Safety accreditation throughout the project lifecycle

         Establish the Safety Assurance Plan, Safety Analysis, Hazard Log, Safety Report, etc.

         Lead a team of resources to oversee safety and quality assurance throughout all stages of the end to end project lifecycle

         Analyze and monitor technological and functionality regulatory standards and requirements, manage project safety assurance activities, and provide safety assurance advice

         Identify and manage the risks on the project using analytical skills and produce safety assurance reports and documentation to ensure the projects risks are managed

         Decide on the method of safety assurance to be applied on projects, in accordance with Transport Safety policy and the Project’s relevant standards

         Cooperate with engineers and production staff ensuring the minimization of project risks

         Work with Management and the Internal/External Auditors to develop action plans, address internal audit findings, and monitor and reporting status of all assurance action plans

         Ensure the strict application of Safety Management processes and tools

         Build the System Safety Case, integrating the Safety Cases of the associated products and generic applications, and ensure its completeness and acceptance

         Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal and external assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessor

         Provision of final safety assurance documentation (for testing) for Safety Cases

         Convince customers / national safety authority / partners / consultants / safety assessors of the approach and methodology for safety management & safety demonstration

         Provide guidance to projects to ensure adherence to change elements of the Safety Management System and Configuration Management Plan requirements

         Complete technical safety assurance activities and production of system safety related deliverables to ensure safety is accounted for in Design and implementation stages of the system lifecycle

 

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

 

         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Rail Industry safety change and system safety related discipline with relevant experience in project management and/or Quality and Assurance Management - candidates with successful experience in other complex high risk/high reliability environments transportation vehicles such as aircraft or merchant/maritime vessels may be considered

         Knowledge and experience in System Safety Engineering Practices

         Knowledge and experience in transit operations, facilities, vehicles, rules and procedures

         Ability to facilitate hazard identification workshops and stakeholder engagement

         Competence in performing safety assurance activities and assessments to produce safety artefacts as required by the Safety Management System and project safety requirements

         Knowledge of the methods and practices of investigations, research methods, analysis, data compilation, and reports presentation

         Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations

         Strong project management, analytical, and interpretation skills

Rail Transit System Quality Assurance Inspector

 Key Responsibilities

 Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified Rail Transit System Quality Assurance Inspector applicants possessing the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform tasks required of a Quality Inspector performing the quality inspections of rail cars to satisfactory meet all contractual testing and inspection requirements.           Perform incoming, in process, testing, assembly, and final physical inspection of components and systems of railcars, to determine contractual specifications are met to approved procedures/drawings

Engineer Scientist - Data Transformation Analyst – Level 3

Location:        San Diego, CA Area

 Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified applicants for Data Analytics Modeler/Data ETL Developer to support a variety of clients in a large Navy organization with users across the US to implement a SAP Business Objects-based business intelligence system over an Oracle relational database and develop data models and extract transformation and load (ETL) processes using SAP Data Services on a secure network. This position requires database development in TOAD for Oracle and ETL development in SAP Data Services software. Training will be provided as necessary.

 This position is remote and will require periodic travel to San Diego, CA. Candidate should be located in short travel distance to San Dieg0, CA.

 Job Responsibilities

 The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience developing advanced SQL based ETL in a multi-user environment. Areas of responsibility include working with a team to update the current target Business Intelligence environment design, identify additional source data and update the architecture following software development lifecycle best practice. A full support plan is required that addresses functionality and reporting requirements, performance optimization, data lineage tracking, data backup and recovery, and archiving of historic transactional data.  This position will work with our data operations and development teams along with our support office team to design and update database models, ETL, data warehouse monitoring, migration of data from legacy systems, facilitation of data discovery and remediation of data errors. Strong SQL and data staging skills are a must.  Knowledge and experience with enterprise ETL tools is a plus.  Experience with SAP Business Objects Platform and Oracle RDBMS are strong discriminators.

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified Computer Programmer to provide Engineering and Technical Services for the NSWC Type III Laboratory located at Seal Beach, CA in support of Calibration and Repair.

 

Job Responsibilities: The Computer Programmer will support the NSWC Lab as the Navy’s test systems certifying activity for designated undersea warfare, surface-launched and air-launched guided weapons test systems used for factory production acceptance, in-service surveillance and depot repair. The Systems Engineer will support NSWC Lab Seal Beach and Program Managers and the fleet to ensure combat and weapons systems perform as designed throughout the life cycle. The specific areas of support include the following:

 

         Support development and integration of software programs to perform automated testing, data collection and control of instrumentation. Establish and maintain a library of software used by the portable test sets.

         Develop engineering documentation for new products. Employ strict configuration and data management control measures to ensure accuracy of engineering drawings and specifications and control of software source code and executable binaries.

         Develop procedures for testing new products and for field use of new products and validate procedures in the laboratory.

         Perform hardware and software integration testing and system functional qualification testing of new products, and verify functional capability before allowing them to be delivered to customers.

         Ensure that software and networking components conform to open architecture requirements, information assurance requirements and quality assurance provisions.

         Employ industry standard techniques for management of all requirements including version-control, configuration baseline and change control, quality control and control of software source code, software executables and software documentation.

         Perform integration of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf testing devices with automated computing devices and custom developed software to create new products to enhance field testing.

         Provide support and integration of computer software to automate currently accepted testing methodologies as described in current maintenance documentation.

Engineering Technician IV and 29086 Engineering Technician VI

Location:        Corona, California

 Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking qualified Engineering Technician IV and Engineering Technician VI candidates to provide support and Technical Services for the NSWC Corona Division Navy Gage and Standards Laboratory and the Machine Shop. The NSWC Corona Laboratory designs, builds and maintains Navy Special Interface Gages for ship-launched missiles, surface, and underwater munitions; air-launched missiles and munitions; and strategic weapons including Fleet ballistic missile systems and subsystems; Army Foreign Weapons and Navy and Marine Corps small arms. The laboratory also performs calibrations of TMDE and gages for the Navy and Marine Corps and performs rapid prototyping and completes repairs on TMDE, Calibration Standards, and gages that are found to be out of tolerance.

 Position Requirements

 Standards Laboratory, Gage Laboratory, and Machine Shop Operations Support

         Provide production scheduling and workflow management to achieve effective and efficient laboratory Operations

         Develop and report metrics to monitor flow, output, rework, corrective actions, productivity and Ratios

         Actively support the quality program and prepare and sustain Joint Naval Audit Certification and ISO 17025 compliance of the laboratories

         Document calibration and repair hours and parts costs in the Navy’s Equipment Recall System, comply with both general and specific safety precautions found in instrument calibration procedures (ICP), and local quality, safety, and hazmat policy and procedure documents

         Perform interface assessment inspection and certification of gages in the Navy Gage Laboratory Interface with vendors in order to conduct research on parts, Components, and technical support

         Meet urgent certified gage delivery requirements to the fleet, defense contractor, or FMS allies Perform on-site gage inspections and certifications

         Modify and document gages for compliance to laboratory and quality system requirements and repair laboratory machines, measuring equipment, and gages

         Prepare designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems

         Supervise and provide advice on unusual or controversial problems or policy matters; complete work and review for compliance with overall project objectives.

         Plan approach to solve design problems; conceive and recommend new design techniques; resolve design problems with contract personnel, and assure compatibility of design

         Design and coordinate test set ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design; use untried and untested measurement techniques; and improve the performance of the equipment.

 Desired Experience/Qualifications/Education

 Candidates are required to possess the experience and education necessary to independently plan and accomplish complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity. Complexity of assignments require considerable creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable.

Standards Calibration Technician 

Location: Springfield, Virginia

Type: Fulltime 

Availability:  Immediately

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) has an immediate opening for a Standards Calibration Technician.  This position requires 10+ years experience, with PMEL training preferred.  Applicant must be experienced in calibration, maintenance and repair of electronic, mechanical and temperature standards.  Experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory a plus.  Desire experience in statistical process control, uncertainty analysis, and knowledge of Windows-based software.  US citizenship is required for a government security clearance.  Salary DOE.
